A laser sensor is a device that utilizes a focused beam of laser light to detect the presence, absence, or distance of an object. It achieves this by measuring the time it takes for the light to travel to the object and reflect back to the sensor. This provides precise non-contact detection and distance measurement capabilities. Laser sensors are commonly employed in manufacturing and robotics applications. Essentially, a laser sensor "sees" an object by bouncing a laser beam off of it and analyzing the reflected signal.
